1. Quality of electrode paste

The quality requirements of the electrode paste are good roasting performance, no soft break and hard break, and good thermal conductivity; the baked electrode must have sufficient strength, excellent thermal shock resistance, electrical shock resistance, low porosity, low resistivity and good oxidation resistance.

Such self-baking electrodes have low consumption under the same calcium carbide furnace.

2. Raw materials and product quality used in electric furnace

The smaller the particle size of the carbon material, the greater the resistance, the deeper the electrode is inserted into the charge, the higher the furnace temperature, the faster the reaction, and the better the production effect. The slower the electrode is oxidized, the slower the electrode paste is consumed; the higher the carbon content of the carbon material, the higher the charge ratio Higher, the less the electrode carbon participates in the reaction, the slower the electrode paste consumption; the higher the effective calcium oxide content of the lime, the slower the electrode consumption. Faster; the larger the lime particle size, the slower the electrode consumption; the higher the gas production of calcium carbide, the slower the electrode consumption.

3. Adjustment of process factors such as current and voltage Low voltage, high current operation, slow consumption of electrode paste; small power factor of electrodes, slow consumption of electrode paste.

4. Electrode operation management level When auxiliary lime is often added during operation, the consumption of electrode paste will be accelerated; frequent hard breaks and soft breaks of electrodes will increase the consumption of electrode paste; the height of electrode paste will affect the consumption of electrode paste. If the height of the electrode paste is too low, the sintered density of the electrode will decrease, which will speed up the consumption of the electrode paste; the frequent dry burning of the open arc will increase the consumption of the electrode paste; if the electrode paste is not managed properly, dust will fall on the electrode paste, resulting in The increase of ash will also increase the consumption of electrodes.

The longer the electrode, the slower the consumption, and the shorter the electrode, the faster the consumption. The longer the electrode, the better the graphitization degree of the electrode in the high temperature area of the charge, the better the strength, and the slower the consumption; on the contrary, the shorter the electrode, the faster the consumption. Keeping the length of the working end of the electrode will make the consumption of the electrode enter a good cycle. The short working end of the electrode will break this virtuous cycle. If it is moved, it is easy to cause electrode slippage, core pulling, paste leakage, soft breakage and other phenomena. Production practice experience proves that the worse the production effect, low load and low output, the more electrode paste consumption; the better the production effect, the less electrode paste consumption. Therefore, strengthening the technical level of calcium carbide operators and the use management of electrode paste is the fundamental measure to reduce electrode accidents and electrode paste consumption, and it is also a basic skill that calcium carbide operators must master in their work.
