Its particle size is best: 100kg furnace is less than 10mm,500kg furnace is less than 15mm,1.5 ton furnace is less than 20mm,20 ton furnace is less than 30mm. The requirement of carburizer for top-blown (rotary) converter steelmaking is high fixed carbon, low content of ash, volatilization, sulfur, phosphorus, nitrogen and other impurities, and dry, clean, moderate particle size.Its fixed carbon C≥96%, volatiles ≤1.0%, S≤0.5%, moisture ≤0.5%, particle size within 1-5mm. If the particle size is too fine, it will burn easily. If the particle size is too thick, it will float on the surface of molten steel and not be easily absorbed by molten steel. The particle size of induction furnace is 0.2-6mm, among which the particle size of steel and other ferrous metals is 1.4-9.5mm, high carbon steel requires low nitrogen, and the particle size is 0.5-5mm, etc. Specific judgment and selection should be made according to the specific type of furnace type smelting workpiece and other details.
