Petroleum coke carbon raiser is generally used in the production process of gray cast iron, usually with a carbon content of 96% to 99%, such as automotive brake pads, cast-iron engines, etc. have been used. The main raw material of graphite carbon raiser is petroleum coke, its fixed carbon content can reach 99.5%, with the characteristics of low sulfur elements, very suitable for the production of ductile iron use, and the absorption rate is relatively fast.

Carbon Raiser User Method

1. The amount of carbon raiser used generally accounts for 1% to 3% of the iron or steel, and should be used according to the requirements.

2. When using carbon raiser for 1-5 tons electric furnace, a small amount of steel or iron liquid should be melted in the furnace first. If there is remaining steel or iron liquid in the furnace, the carbon raiser can also be added at once, and then other raw materials should be added to make the carbon raiser fully melted and absorbed.

3. When using carbon raiser in electric furnace larger than 5 tons, it is recommended to mix part of carbon raiser with other raw materials first and add it to the middle and lower part of the furnace. When the raw materials melt and the iron or steel reaches 2/3 of the electric furnace before the remaining carbon raiser is added all at once to ensure that the carbon raiser can have sufficient time to be absorbed before all the raw materials melt, so as to enhance the absorption rate.

4. There are many factors that affect the absorption rate of carbon additive, mainly including adding time, stirring, dosage, etc. Therefore, according to the requirements of use, the adding time and dosage should be strictly calculated, and the iron or steel liquid should be stirred when adding to enhance the absorption rate of carbon additive.
